Cooperation on Jeju’s Learning+Vacation Policy
Z: 제주가 추진하는 또 다른 워케이션(Work & Vacation), 런케이션(Learn + Vacation0 정책이 탄력을 받을 전망이다. Learncation(Learn+Vaction) ! This is Another Work & Vacation policy promoted by Jeju and it is expected to gain momentum.
A: 런케이션. 말그래로 배우면서 휴식을 즐기는 프로그램이다. 제주의 관계인구를 증가시키는데 큰 몫을 할 거으로 보인다. Learncation It's a program where you learn and relax.
It is expected to play a big role in increasing Jeju's related population.
Z: 제주의 런케이션 정책에 대한민국 정부와 국가의 거점 국립대학교들이 참여한다.
지난달 21일(2025년 2월 21일) 제주 국제컨벤션센터에서 교육부와 전국 9개의 국가 거점 국립대학교들, 그리고 글로컬 대학협의회와 제주대학교가 참여한 가운데, ‘런케이션 및 교류활성화를 위한 업무협약’을 체결하였다.
The Korean government and national universities will participate in Jeju's learncation policy.
On the 21st of last month (February 21, 2025) at the Jeju International Convention Center, the Ministry of Education, nine national universities across the country, the Glocal University Council, and Jeju National University signed a "business agreement to revitalize learnning and exchange."
A: 교육과 관련한 주요기관과 대학들이 제주 런케이션 활성화에 참여하기로 합의한 것이군요.
The major institutions and universities related to education have agreed to participate in the activation of the Jeju launch.
Z: 이를 통해 제주의 글로벌 런케이션 허브 조성을 위한 협력관계가 구축되었다고 볼 수 있다.
이번 협약은 제주에서 추진 중인 런케이션 외에도 교육 분야에서의 교류 활성화와 제주지역 발전을 위한 공동협력을 도모하기 위해서 이루어졌다. Through this, it can be seen that a cooperative relationship has been established to create a global learncation hub in Jeju. In addition to the Learncation being promoted in Jeju, this agreement was made to promote exchanges in the field of education and to promote joint cooperation for the development of the Jeju region.

학점 교류를 활용한 런케이션 운영과 지원을 중심으로
지역문제해결과 사회 공헌 프로그램을 개발하고 운영하는 것
교수학습 지원 프로그램을 협력하고
제주의 가치와 비전, 그리고 미래를 알리기 위한 다양한 프로그램 참여이다.
특히 제주 R.I.S.E. 포럼의 국제적 운영 지원 등을 주된 내용으로 하고 있다.
Z: If you look at the main agreement
- Focusing on the operation and support of the application using the exchange of credits
- Developing and operating community problem solving and social contribution programs
- We collaborated on teaching and learning support programs
- Participation in various programs to promote Jeju's values, visions, and future.
- In particular, the main content is support for international operations of the Jeju R.I.S.E. Forum.
A: 제주가 런케이션을 추진하면서 전국의 주요대학들과 협약을 체결한 것으로 알고 있다.
As far as I know, Jeju has signed agreements with major universities across the country while promoting the Learncation.
Z: 제주특별자치도는 중앙대를 시작으로 경희대, 세종대, 동국대, 대전대, 성균관대 등 6개 국내 대학과 런케이션 협약을 체결했다.
그리고 최근에는 세계적인 명문 대학교, 미국 프린스턴대학교와도 협약을 맺었다.
Starting with Chung-Ang University, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province signed a launch agreement with six domestic universities, including Kyunghee University, Sejong University, Dongguk University, Daejeon University, and Sungkyunkwan University.
And recently, it also signed an agreement with prestigious universities in the world and Princeton University in the United States.
A: 제주의 글로벌 교육 협력의 범위가 계속 확대되고 있군요.
The scope of Jeju's global education cooperation continues to expand.
Z: 제주도청은 이번 협약을 계기로 교육부의 정책과 연계해서 글로벌 교육 혁신 모델을 구현하고자 한다. 특히 지역과 수도권 대학간 상생 발전할 수 있는 새로운 패러다임을 제시하고 이를 통해 지역대학 경쟁력을 높여 나갈 수 있을 것으로 보고 있다.
이 외에도 국내외의 유수 대학들과 교류를 확대해서 자유로운 연구교육이 가능한 개방형 플랫폼을 구축해서 혁신적인 런케이션 모델을 창출해 나갈 것이다.
Taking this agreement as an opportunity, the Jeju Provincial Office intends to implement a global education innovation model in connection with the policies of the Ministry of Education.
In particular, it is expected that a new paradigm for win-win development between universities in the region and the metropolitan area will be presented, and through this, the competitiveness of local universities will be increased.
In addition, by expanding exchanges with leading universities at home and abroad, Jeju will create an innovative running model by establishing an open platform that enables free research education.
A: 제주야말로 관광도시로서 교육이 결합된다면 특별한 국제자유도시로 성장해 나갈 수 있을 것이다. As a tourist city, Jeju will be able to grow into a special free international city if education is combined.
Z: 국가 거점 국립대학교 네트워크와의 협력을 통해서, 제주도는 글로벌 교육과 연구의 거점으로 거듭날 것이다.
Through cooperation with the National University Network, Jeju Island will be reborn as a hub for global education and research.
