Securing Budget for Self-Driving Service
Z: 제주에서 추진하고 있는 자율주행 자동차 서비스에 국가 예산이 지원된다.
The national budget will be supported for the self-driving car service being promoted in Jeju.
A: 얼마의 예산이 지원되고 있나요? How much budget is supported?
Z: 2억 5천만원이다.
국토교통부는 자율주행서비스가 우리의 일상에 스며들 수 있도록 지역별로 자율주행 서비스에 운영비를 지원하고 있다.
It's 250 million won.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is providing operating expenses for autonomous driving services by region so that autonomous driving services can permeate our daily lives.
A: 그럼 제주만 지원하는 것이 아니라 여러지역이 국가로부터 예산 지원을 받는 것이군요.
So It is not just supporting Jeju, but also receiving budget support for various regions.
Z: 제주뿐 아니라, 서울과 세종, 경기도 충남, 경북 경남의 도시들이 지원을 받는다.
총 26억원의 예산이 지원된다.
Not only Jeju, but also Seoul and Sejong, Gyeonggi-do and South Chungcheong Province, and North Gyeongsang and South Gyeongsang provinces are supported.
A total of 2.6 billion won will be supported.
A: 전체 예산 26억원 중 2억 5천만원이 제주에 할당된 것이군요.
So 250 million won out of the total budget of 2.6 billion won has been allocated to Jeju.
Z: 이번 지원은 ‘자율차 시범운행지구 서비스 지원사업’에 따른 것이다.
This support is in accordance with the 'Autonomous Vehicle Pilot Operation District Service Support Project'.
A: 제주는 공항과 관광지를 중심으로 자율주행 자동차 운영을 하고 있지요
Jeju operates self-driving cars centered on airports and tourist attractions
Z: 시범운행지구 내에서 신기술과 서비스 실증을 실행하므로써 한국의 자율주행 산업의 경쟁력을 높이고자 함이다.
또한 자율차를 활용한 대중교통 사각지대 해소도 꾀하고자 한다.
It aims to increase the competitiveness of Korea's autonomous driving industry by demonstrating new technologies and services in the pilot driving district.
It also seeks to eliminate blind spots on public transportation using autonomous vehicles.
A: 자율주행 자동차 서비스로 인해서 우리의 이동편의가 개선되었으면 한다.
I hope our mobility convenience will be improved by the self-driving car service.
Z: 제주에는 2024년 7월 24일부터 12월 31일까지 한시적으로 운형했던 ‘노선버스형 탐라자율차’를 올해에도 운영할 예정이다.
Jeju will continue to operate the "Route Bus-type Tamna Autonomous Vehicle," which was temporarily transported from July 24 to December 31, 2024.
A: 어느 노선에 투입되는 것인가요?
Which route will it be used for?
Z: 자율주행버스가 투입되는 노선은 총 2개소이다.
제주시청과 공항을 중심으로 운영하는 노선과 그리고 서귀포시 제1청사 구간을 운행하는 버스이다.
There are a total of two routes where self-driving buses are used.
It is a bus that operates around Jeju City Hall and the airport and operates the section of Seogwipo City Hall 1.
A: 자율주행도 단계가 있다. 지금은 시범운영이지만 곧 상용화 될 것이라고 본다.
There are stages for autonomous driving as well. It's a trial run now, but I think it will be commercialized soon.
Z: 자율주행 단계는 레벨 3으로 사람이 없어도 인공지능 시스템이 자율주행 자동차의 기능 대부분을 조작할 수 있는 단계이다.
다만 필요시에는 운전자가 개입해서 제어할 수 있는 수준이라고 보면 된다.
The self-driving stage is Level 3, where artificial intelligence systems can manipulate most of the functions of self-driving cars without people.
However, if necessary, it can be regarded as a level that the driver can intervene and control.
A: 아무래도, 안전을 위해서 모니터링과 긴급상황에서 대처할 인력이 있어야 하는 것이군요.
어쨌든 예산이 투입되는 만큼 좋은 결과가 나오길 기대한다.
I guess for safety, we need to have a monitoring and emergency response personnel.
Anyway, I hope that the budget will be spent, so good results will come out.
Z: 이제야 막 공모에서 선정된지 1개월이 좀 넘었다. 예산도 배정받아야하고 행정적인 절차도 거쳐야 한다. 실제로 예산이 투입되어서 운영되기까지는 시간이 걸릴 것으로 보인다.
It's been a little over a month since they were just selected in the contest.
It has to be allocated a budget and go through administrative procedures.

Z: 6월부터 자율주행버스를 운행할 계획이다.
It plans to operate autonomous buses from June.
