Z: 제주도에는 국립대학교가 있다. There is a national university in Jeju Island.
A: 국립대학교는 제주대학교 하나 있죠. 아라동에 본 캠퍼스가 있고, 교육대학인 사라캠퍼스가 있다.
There is one national university, Jeju National University in Jeju.
There is the main campus in Ara-dong and Sarah Campus, an educational university.
Z: 제주국립대의 사라캠퍼스(교육대학)가 아라캠퍼스로 통합이전될 전망이다.
The Sarah Campus (Education College) of Jeju National University is expected to be integrated and transferred to Ara Campus.
A: 언제정도 통합이전을 예상하고 있나요? When do you expect the integration to be transferred?
Z: 계획대로 진행된다면 2028년부터 신입생을 포함해서 교육대학생들이 아라캠퍼스로 통학하게 될 것으로 보인다.
If it goes according to the plan, it is expected that education students, including freshmen, will commute to Ara Campus from 2028.
A: 와우 그럼 과거 제주의 교육대학교 캠퍼스는 없어지는 것이군요.
Wow, then the campus of Jeju National University of Education in the past will be gone.
Z: 제주대학교 사라캠퍼스는 과거 제주교육대학교였다가 통합되었다. 그러니 캠퍼스가 생긴지 52년만에 역사의 뒤안길로 사라지게 된다.
Jeju National University Sarah Campus was formerly Jeju National University of Education, but was integrated. So, 52 years after the campus was built, it will disappear into the back of history.
A: 어떤 절차에 따라서 사라캠퍼스가 아라캠퍼스와 통합하게 되는 것이죠?
By what procedure will Sarah Campus be integrated with Ara Campus?
Z: 교육부에서 추진하는 사업이다. 교육부는 12월 10일자로 ‘제주대학교 교육대학 개축이전에 따른 시설 개선 임대형 민간투자사업(BTL)’ 대상 사업 지정과 더불어 시설사업 기본계획을 고시했다.
It is a project promoted by the Ministry of Education. The ministry announced the basic plan for the facility project as of Dec. 10, along with the designation of the project to target the "Facility Improvement Rental Private Investment Project (BTL) following the relocation of the Jeju National University College of Education."
A: 어느 정도의 예산을 투입해서 이전하게 되나요?
How much budget will it have to spend to relocate?
Z: 고시 내용에 따르면 교육대학은 총 사업비 423억원을 투입하게 된다. 그리고 2028년 1월 준공을 목표로 하고 있다. 그리고 아라캠퍼스 내 연면적 12,000평방미터 규모로 교육대학교가 설립될 예정이다.
According to the notice, the educational university will invest 42.3 billion won in total project cost. And it aims to be completed in January 2028. And the educational university will be established with a total floor area of 12,000 square meters within Ara Campus.
A: 제주대학교 아라캠퍼스에는 많은 가용부지가 있으니 충분히 가능할 것이다.
앞으로 어떤 절차들을 밟아가게 되나요?
Jeju National University Ara Campus has many available sites, so it will be possible.
What procedures will it go through in the future?
Z: 제주대학교는 12월 17일 사업설명회를 가졌다. 그리고 2025년 1월부터 민간 사업자 선정 절차를 거치게 된다. 2026년 착공을 목표로 하고 있다.
Jeju National University had a business briefing on Dec. 17.
And from January 2025, it will go through the process of selecting a private company.
It aims to start construction in 2026.
