Z: 이 정책의 시행으로 지방자치단체와 개인이나 마을이 계약을 맺고 생태계 보호 활동을 펼치면서 보상금을 받을 수 있게 된 것이다.
제주의 경우 2023년 생태계 서비스 지불제 조례를 제정하고 9개 마을에서 시범 운영해 왔다.
올해는 19개 마을로 확대 운영하고 있다.
The implementation of this policy allows individuals or villages to receive compensation
by signing contracts with local governments and conducting ecological protection activities.
In the case of Jeju, the Ecosystem Service Payment System Ordinance was enacted in 2023 and has been conducted as a pilot project in nine villages.
This year, it is being expanded to 19 villages.
A: 19개 시범마을로 확대하는데 50여개의 마을이 신청했다고요. 그만큼 관심이 매우 뜨겁다.
선정된 마을에서는 어떤 사업들을 하게 되는가?
About 50 villages applied? For selectingo 19 pilot villages. That's how much interest is being drawn.
What projects will be carried out in the selected villages?
Z: 이 19개의 마을들은 곶자왈 숲조성, 오름 탐방로 설치와 정비, 곶자왈 및 오름 정비, 하천 일대 숲길조성과 탐방해설, 습지 환경정비, 생태계 교란식물들을 제거하는 일들을 하게 된다.
물론 마을별로 특화된 사업들을 선정해서 하게 될 것이다.
These 19 villages are responsible for creating Gotjawal forests, installing and maintaining Orum trails, maintaining Gotjawal and Orum, creating forest roads and exploration commentary around rivers, maintaining wetland environments, and removing ecosystem disturbances.
Of course, those will be selected for each village’s specialized projects.
A: 생태계 서비스 지불제는 생태관광과도 좋은 시너지를 내게 될 것이다.
The ecosystem service payment system will create good synergy with ecotourism as well.
Z: 물론이다. 현재 동백동산 습지나 저지곶자왈과 저지오름 등 4곳을 생태관광지역으로 지정해서 운영 중에 있다.
Of course. The Dongbaek Garden, Camellia Hill wetland, Jeojigotjawal, and Jeojigotjawal are currently in operation as ecotourism zones.
