A: 왜 제주의 용천수가 사라지고 있죠? Why is the water in Jeju disappearing?
Z: 용천수가 고갈되고, 멸실되고, 매립되고 있기 때문이다.
현재 활용되는 용천수 162개소 가운데 99개소는 생활용으로 쓰이고 있다. 61% 수준이다.
Because Yongcheon water is being destroyed, and reclaimed.
Of the 162 currently used Yongcheon water sites, 99 are used for daily use. It is around 61%.
A: 그럼 나머지는 어떤 용도로 쓰이고 있나요? Then what are the rest of them being used for?
Z: 44개소는 농업용으로 쓰이고 있고 (27%), 17개소는 상수원으로(10%) 그리고 2개소는 소화용으로 쓰이고 있다.
44 are used for agricultural purposes (27%), 17 are used as water sources (10%), and 2 are used for digestion.
A: 왜 나머지 용천수는 실질적으로 활용하고 있지 못하고 있죠?
Why isn't the rest of Yongcheon water actually being used?
Z: 484개소의 용천수는 용출량이 저조하면서 또한 조간대와 공유수면에 분포해 있어서 직접적인 활용이 어려운 실정이다.
도내 전체 용천수의 하루 평균 용출되는 양은 48만톤이다.
이 가운데 27만톤(53%)만 활용되고 있다.
Yongcheon water in 484 locations is low in elution and is distributed in the intertidal zone and public waters, making it difficult to use it directly.
The average daily amount of Yongcheon water in the province is 480,000 tons.
Of these, only 270,000 tons (53%) are used.
A: 첫 조사가 시작된 20여년 전 하루 평균 용출량은 어느 정도였죠?
What was the average daily elution about 20 years ago when the first survey started?
Z: 그 때는 96만톤이었다. 분출되는 용천수량이 줄어드는 건 계속되는 난개발과 농업용수 사용 급증에 따른 지하수 고갈이 원인이다.
제주도청은 2025년에는 제주도 전역에 분포한 646개의 용천수에 대한 조사를 진행할 계획이다.
조사를 통해서 용천수의 분포 현황과 이용관리 실태, 수질과 용출량, 주변 오염원 등을 종합적으로 파악할 예정이다.
It was 960,000 tons at the time. The decrease in the amount of molten water that is released is due to the depletion of groundwater due to the continuous reckless development and the rapid increase in the use of agricultural water. In 2025, the Jeju Provincial Government plans to conduct a survey of 646 spring water distributed throughout Jeju Island. Through the survey, the distribution status of Yongcheon water, usage management status, water quality and elution, and surrounding pollutants will be comprehensively identified.
A: 기초조사가 되어야 앞으로 용천수를 체계적으로 관리할 수 있겠죠.
용천수의 체계적인 관리계획이 수립되길 기대해본다.
We need to conduct a basic survey so that we can systematically manage Yongcheon water in the future. I look forward to establishing a systematic management plan for Yongcheon-su.
