Z: 제주영어교육도시에 5번째 국제학교 설립을 추진 중이다.
  The establishment of a fifth international school in Jeju English Education City is underway.

A: 어떤 학교 브랜드가 들어올 계획인가?  What kind of school brand is Jeju planning to enter?

Z: 풀턴 사이언스 아카데미 애서튼 이다.
2023년 12월 애서튼 국제학교 글로벌이 민간 투자 국제학교라고 할 수 있는 풀턴사이언스아카데미애서튼 설립계획 승인 신청서를 제주도교육청에 제출한바 있다.

In December 2023, Atherton International School Global submitted an application
to the Jeju Provincial Office of Education for approval of the establishment plan for
Fulton Science Academy, which can be called a private investment international school.

A: 그럼 이제 영어교육도시내에 5번째 국제학교가 들어서겠네요.
언제 개교를 목표로 하고 있는가요?
Then the 5th international school will be built in the Global Education City.
When is it aiming to open the school?

Z: 2026년 9월 개교할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.
개발사업자인 JDC는 제주영어교육도시에 5번째 국제하교 설립을 위한 행정절차를 진행 중이다.
제주도교육청은 올해초 1월 3일 국제학교설립 및 운영심의 위원회를 개최했다.
그리고 이 애서튼 국제학교 글로벌 국제학교 설립계획을 심의하고 회의를 진행중이다.
It looks like it can open in September 2026.
JDC, a developer, is undergoing administrative procedures to establish a fifth international school in Jeju Global Education City.
The Jeju Provincial Office of Education held an international school establishment and operation review committee on January 3 earlier this year.
And we are deliberating on the plan to establish a global international school for this Atherton International School and holding a meeting.

A: 회의 결과는 어떠했나요?   What was the result of the meeting?

Z: 국제학교 설립 운영심의위원회는 설립계획에 대한 보완을 요구했다.
심의절차는 계속 진행중이다.
The International School Establishment Operation Review Committee demanded that the establishment plan be supplemented.    The deliberation process is ongoing.

A: 이 학교는 어떤 종류의 학교인가?  What kind of school is this?

Z: 미국학교이다. 애틀란타 지역의 신흥 명문 사립학교이다.
풀턴 사이언스 아카데미 애서튼은 유치원을 포함해서 초등학교부터 고등학교까지 12학년 과정을 운영하고 있다.
It's an American school.
It is an emerging and prestigious private school in Atlanta.
Fulton Science Academy Atherton runs 12th grade courses from elementary to high school, including kindergarten.

A: 제주에서는 어떤 과정이 운영될 예정인가? What kind of courses will be run in Jeju?

Z: 제주 과정은 유치원은 제외된다. 초등학교부터 고등학교까지 과정을 운영할 계획이다.
이 국제학교는 기존의 국제학교와는 방식이 조금 다르다.
기존 국제학교는 JDC가 직간접적으로 투자해왔다.
애서튼학교는 순수 민간 투자 형식으로 진행될 예정이다.
Jeju course excludes kindergartens. It plans to run courses from elementary school to high school.
This international school is a little different from the existing international school.
Existing international schools have been invested directly or indirectly by JDC.
Atherton School will be conducted in the form of pure private investment.

A: 앞으로 진행되어야할 절차가 많군요.
There are a lot of procedures that need to be carried out in the future.

Z: 설립계획이 우선 승인되어야하고, 민간 투자라는 점에서 자본과 경기 상황 등 여러 가지 변수가 작용될 수 있다.
The establishment plan must be approved first, and in terms of private investment, various variables such as capital and economic conditions can be applied.

A: 2026년 9월 개교를 목표로 하고 있는 5번째 국제학교가 올해내로 착공하길 기대해본다.
I look forward to the 5th international school, which aims to open in September 2026,
to start construction within this year.
